Homemade Almond Milk
Many people don't realize that store bought almond milks contain unnecessary added gums, stabilizers, and sweeteners. That is why I always opt to make my own nut milks. There are not only a healthier option, but delicious as well!
- 1 Cup Almonds
- 4 Cups cold filtered water
- pinch sea salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or 1 soaked date
Soak almonds in cool water overnight or at least 4 hours. OR if you're tight with time you can soak in hot water for 1 hour
Then rinse and add to a high speed blender with 4 cups of water, sea salt, and optional additions.
Blend on high for around 1 minute or until the milk is creamy and smooth
Strain with a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or strainer
Enjoy on top of some homemade granola or with some organic greek yogurt and almond butter
