Homemade Elderberry Gummies (Immune Boosting Recipe)
If you’re looking for a fun way to support your immune system, these homemade elderberry gummies are one of the easiest and most tasty treats you can make. Whenever I make these, my 5 year old is constantly asking for another gummy snack. Elderberry syrup is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C and is often used to support the body during cold and flu season. Paired with raw honey, known for its soothing and antibacterial properties, and grass-fed gelatin, which supports gut health and adds protein, these homemade gummies are a simple and nourishing way to support overall wellness.

Cook Time 10 minutes mins
- 1 cup organic elderberry syrup 1/4 cup should be separated out
- 1/2 cup water or fruit juice use high quality fruit juice (not from concentrate)
- 1/4 cup grass-fed gelatin or 4 to 5 teaspoons agar agar for vegan gummies
In a small bowl, pour ¼ cup of cool elderberry syrup. Slowly sprinkle the grass-fed gelatin over the top and let it sit for a few minutes to bloom. If using agar agar, skip this step and follow the heating method below. 1 cup organic elderberry syrup, 1/4 cup grass-fed gelatin
In a small saucepan, combine the remaining elderberry syrup with ½ cup water or fruit juice. Warm gently over low heat. Do not bring to a boil.Keeping the temperature low helps preserve the benefits of elderberry syrup and maintains its herbal support properties. 1 cup organic elderberry syrup, 1/2 cup water or fruit juice
Remove from heat and whisk into the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved. You may need to use a fork to help combine the bloomed gelatin with the liquid. Once the bloomed gelatin is dissolved, you can whisk it. If using agar agar, bring the mixture to a gentle simmer with the agar added. Whisk continuously for 2 to 3 minutes until fully activated. Using a dropper, drop the liquid into gummy molds or silicone molds. (Alternatively, you can pour the mixture into a cake pan and once set, use mini cookie cutters to cut into shapes. Or if you don't have shapes you can cut them into mini squares.)
Place the molds in the refrigerator and allow them to set for 2 to 3 hours, or until firm.
Pop the small gummies out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
For the elderberry syrup, you can use a high quality store bought elderberry syrup or you can make your own using this recipe.
