Greek Gluten Free Burgers: Juicy & Delicious
These juicy Greek gluten free burgers put a unique spin on an old classic! A grass-fed beef patty topped with fresh homemade tzatziki, red onion, tomato, feta, and creamy avocado โ itโs both nutrient-dense and delicious. I promise, once you give these Greek burgers a try, theyโll become your new favorite dinner go-to.
And if you’re gluten-intolerant (like me!), you can skip the bun and enjoy your burger on a bed of red leaf lettuce or arugula. Itโs just as satisfying โ and honestly, you wonโt even miss the bun ๐.

Whatโs in These Greek Gluten Free Burgers?
These Greek burgers are loaded with flavor and packed with wholesome, Mediterranean-inspired ingredients:
100% Grass-Fed Beef
I highly recommend using 100% grass-fed beef for your Greek burgers. Itโs not only more flavorful, but also more nutritious than conventional beef. Grass-fed beef is higher in omega-3 fatty acids, CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), and micronutrients like B vitamins, iron, and vitamin D. Plus, itโs free of antibiotics and hormones โ making these burgers a meal you can feel good about.
Fresh Homemade Tzatziki
Tzatziki is the star topping of any Greek burger! This light and refreshing sauce is made with strained Greek yogurt, shredded cucumber, dill, mint, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and sea salt. It brings a creamy, tangy punch to every bite โ and is surprisingly easy to make at home.
Oregano
Oregano adds that classic Mediterranean flavor that defines a great Greek burger. Itโs rich in antioxidants and known for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Donโt be shy โ feel free to be generous with the oregano in this recipe!
Garlic
Fresh minced garlic brings bold flavor and major health benefits. Fun fact: Hippocrates (yep, the father of Western medicine) used garlic medicinally, and modern science continues to back him up. Itโs packed with plant compounds that support immunity and reduce inflammation.
How to Make These Greek Burgers
Hereโs how to bring your Greek burger night to life:
Step 1: Make the Burger Patties
Finely chop red and green onions. Add them to a large mixing bowl with ground beef, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix everything well with your hands, then form into burger patties.
Step 2: Cook the Burgers
Preheat a cast iron or stainless steel skillet over high heat. Once hot, sear the patties on both sides. Lower the heat and cook until the internal temperature reaches at least 145ยฐF. (Alternatively, throw them on the grill for that smoky flavor.)
Step 3: Make the Tzatziki
Whip up your homemade tzatziki using this tzatziki recipe. You can also use store-bought, but trust me โ homemade tastes fresher and is usually more nutrient-dense.
Step 4: Assemble Your Greek Burgers
Serve your burgers on a bun, or over red leaf lettuce or arugula for a low-carb, gluten-free option. Top with tzatziki, sliced red onion, tomato, avocado, and crumbled feta cheese. Serve with roasted Greek fries and a handful of olives for the ultimate Mediterranean-inspired meal.

Greek Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 lb grass fed ground beef
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1 stalk green onion
- 1/2 tbsp oregano
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- ground pepper
Instructions
- Chop the red and green onion finely. Add the onion to a large bowl, along with the ground beef, garlic and spices. Mix well with your hands and form into patties.
- Preheat a cast iron or stainless steel pan on the stovetop over high heat. Once the pan is hot, place burger patties onto the pan on the stovetop and sear on both sides. Then lower the heat and cook until until the internal temperature reaches at least 145F. Alternatively these burgers can be cooked on the grill.
Greek Fries
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F
- Chop the potatoes into wedges. Add to a bowl and top with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
- Place in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes or until slightly crispy on both sides. Flip halfway through baking.
- Serve burgers on top of red leaf lettuce, arugula, or a bun. Then top with fresh tzatziki, red onion, tomato, avocado, and feta cheese. Serve alongside the greek fries and olives.
Tzatziki
- Make the Fresh tzatziki (either dairy or dairy free) with the link I shared previously in this blog post. Or you can search for "Tzatziki" in the search bar to find my recipe. You can also purchase pre-made tzatziki at many stores. But in my opinion, homemade tzatziki tastes way better and is most often the healthier option.
