Smoothies are a fantastic way to deliver a high dose of nutrients in a convenient, easy-to-digest form. When crafted with immune-supportive ingredients, they can help:

  • Support your body’s natural defenses
  • Fight off inflammation and oxidative stress
  • Replenish vital vitamins and minerals
  • Keep your energy levels steady throughout the day

This immune boosting smoothie checks all the boxes, and it’s as delicious as it is nourishing.

Key Ingredients in This Green Mango Immune Boosting Smoothie

Each ingredient in this recipe has been selected for its immune-enhancing properties. Let’s take a closer look at why this smoothie is such a powerhouse:

Mango – A Vitamin C Powerhouse

Mango is the star of this smoothie. Just one serving of mango delivers about 60% of your daily vitamin C needs, a critical nutrient for immune health. Vitamin C helps your body produce white blood cells, which are essential for fighting off infections. Mango is also rich in:

  • Vitamin A (supports mucosal barriers and vision)
  • Folate (supports cell repair and growth)
  • B vitamins (for energy and immune modulation)
  • Antioxidants like beta-carotene and polyphenols

Broccoli Sprouts – Concentrated Immune Support

Broccoli sprouts are a lesser-known but incredibly powerful ingredient. They contain sulforaphane, a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound known for its ability to:

  • Activate detoxifying enzymes
  • Protect against viruses and bacteria
  • Support cellular health and longevity

Did you know that broccoli sprouts contain up to 100 times more sulforaphane than mature broccoli? A little goes a long way in this smoothie!

Lemon – Rich in Vitamin C and Antioxidants

Fresh lemon juice adds a zesty kick while delivering an extra dose of vitamin C. Lemons also contain:

  • Flavonoids – plant compounds with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties
  • Citric acid – aids digestion and mineral absorption
  • Natural alkalizing effects, which may support overall health

Coconut Water – Hydration and Electrolyte Balance

Coconut water is the perfect liquid base for this immune boosting smoothie. It’s naturally sweet and contains:

  • Lauric acid – has antimicrobial and antiviral properties
  • Electrolytes like potassium and magnesium – help maintain hydration and replenish nutrients lost through stress or activity
  • Vitamin C – an added immune-boosting bonus

Ginger – Anti-Inflammatory and Immune Modulating

Ginger brings warmth and depth to the flavor, along with potent health benefits. It contains gingerol, a bioactive compound that:

  • Reduces inflammation in the body
  • Fights oxidative stress
  • Supports digestion and gut health (where a large part of your immune system resides)

Cucumber – Cooling, Cleansing, and Hydrating

Cucumber is a fantastic addition to this immune boosting smoothie. While it’s light in calories, it’s rich in:

  • Water content – helps keep the body hydrated
  • Vitamin K and antioxidants – for cell protection
  • Silica and anti-inflammatory compounds – to support skin and gut health

Its mild flavor also helps balance stronger ingredients like ginger and lemon.

Celery – Detoxifying and Mineral-Rich

Celery is more than just a crunchy snack—it’s loaded with:

  • Antioxidants and vitamin C – for immune defense
  • Apigenin – a flavonoid known for its anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties
  • Natural sodium and potassium – which support hydration and fluid balance

Optional Add-Ins and Substitutions

Want to switch things up? This immune boosting smoothie is super versatile. Try:

Turmeric – another inflammation-fighting superfood

Frozen blueberries – packed with immune-boosting anthocyanins

Spinach or kale – add iron, chlorophyll, and vitamins A and C

Chia seeds or flaxseeds – for omega-3s and digestive fiber
